Selomadu of Central Java

Selomadu is a long established producer of Stone Flooring (Tiles), Wall Paneling and Mosaic Inlays and has a tradition of supplying quality products for International Export.
All our products are hand produced in Central Java, Indonesia. The raw materials come from Sumatera, Java and East Nusa Tenggara.
We select and use only the best quality lime stones and pebbles/river stones from our reliable suppliers which we have developed over many years of trading.

After selecting the raw materials we tumble the stones in our own facilities prior to washing and fully drying. We tumble all our marble and pebble stones, because this procedure rounds off the outer edges of each stone and also makes the surface of the stone smooth. The stones are then ready to be measured before setting and finishing by hand using our own method of templates.

We use gauges-levels, to test the thickness and standards of each stone. This gives our production team direct standards of thickness for each stone they select for setting.
Our use of gauges allows us to monitor the overall standard ‘thicknesses’ of each stone which means our tiles are more level. This practice reduces ‘under or oversized’ stones in every tile we make, which is important for flooring applications to create a safer surface to walk upon.

Setting of the Stone takes time and “experienced eyes and hands” to create the correct visual balance and mosaic effect. This is a ‘skill’ that can take time to master and use successfully.

Please read our suggestions regarding care and maintenance details which will help you to avoid problems with our products before and especially after installation.

We would like to advise you that all our stone products are ‘totally natural’ and do not under-go any chemical treatments.
When using our products please consider the environment in which the stones are to be used. For example wet, humid, public or private. It is then easier for you to decide upon the best solution for preparation before and after installation.
